About Velocity Benefits:
Nearly a decade of taking the hard ones

Velocity Benefits was built in Georgia around the belief that traditional software was not built for every employee benefits group. And those groups deserved real benefits partner.

Everything since has been about developing technology and services that make those groups easier to support.

We connect the whole path: proposals, payments, and everything in between.

How we got here.

Velocity Benefits didn’t become an end-to-end benefits technology platform overnight. Our story includes a merger, an acquisition, an exit, and a rebrand. Each brought new capabilities that expanded your ability to support groups across the benefits lifecycle.

2018

Velocity Benefits was founded.

Velocity Benefits was established to address gaps in traditional technology for managing enrollment, communication, and operations for brokers.

2020

Velocity Benefits supported remote enrollment during the global shutdown.

When workplaces closed, benefits still had to be explained, elected, and administered for distributed workforces. Velocity Benefits kept enrollment and member communication running remotely and crossed $1 million in revenue for the first time.

2023

Velocity Benefits merged with EmpowHR.

The merger paired Velocity Benefits’ enrollment operations with EmpowHR’s benefits administration capabilities. This broadened Velocity Benefits’ ability to support more stages of the benefits lifecycle.

2025

Velocity Benefits Acquired Piedmont Payment Services.

The acquisition of Piedmont Payment Services in July 2025 added premium payment expertise, expanding Velocity Benefits’ technical capabilities across billing and payments.

2025

Velocity Benefits divested BOB.

The proprietary AI agent platform BOB was sold, demonstrating Velocity Benefits’ ability to build AI technology for real benefits operations and laying a foundation for future AI-powered workflows.

2026

Velocity Benefits rebrands under ACTIVATE.

Velocity Benefits and its product portfolio were rebranded and moved to a single ecosystem to support the benefits lifecycle from proposal to payment.

About ACTIVATE

ACTIVATE brought Velocity Benefits’ existing benefits administration technology and operational teams under one name. The result is a single benefits technology ecosystem that supports the group benefits lifecycle across data intake, administration, billing, and payments, all powered by AI workflows
